The classic Northern Beaches loop. North through the city, across the Spit Bridge, and along the Pittwater coast to Palm Beach. The McCarrs Creek climb on the return is the day's defining feature — 4 km at a steady gradient, bookended by a fast descent on each side.
Coffee at Palm Beach before the run home. The Spit Bridge in both directions makes this very much a peak-traffic ride — leave Kensington at 6am to be back before the worst of the Saturday morning city traffic builds up.
