South down through Sutherland and into the Royal National Park. The descent to Garie Beach is one of the great roads in the Sydney basin — fast, sweeping, and entirely traffic-free for the last few kilometres into the beach.
Then north through Waterfall and back via the Princes Highway for a coffee stop in Sutherland. A fair morning out: 1,200m of climbing across 112km.
